Dr. Trussell is a General Surgeon. He joined PCA in August 2009.
A native of Mansfield, he holds a B.S. degree magna cum laude in biology
from the University of Texas – Arlington. He earned his medical
degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine
in Houston and completed his surgical residency at Banner Good Samaritan
Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
He has published the results of his work he has pulished work on surgical
site infection prevention and has given a number of lectures and technical
presentations.
His wife Adrianne is a certified orthopedic registered nurse and is part
of the ICU nursing staff at Hunt Regional Medical Center. During his leisure
time he enjoys playing golf, watching team sports, mountain biking, hiking,
and other outdoor activities.
Dr. Trussell had planned to be a dentist, having been inspired by a dentist
who was a neighbor when he was growing up. However, during pre-med school
he volunteered in the ER at Parkland Hospital. He found it very fulfilling
and decided to train as a doctor instead.
"It's my goal to advance surgical services in the Greenville area
to new developments in complex laparoscopic surgery and surgical oncology.
I look forward to being part of the local medical community."
