Joshua Trussell, M. D.

PCA-Greenville

Dr. Trussell is a General Surgeon. He joined PCA in August 2009.

A native of Mansfield, he holds a B.S. degree magna cum laude in biology from the University of Texas – Arlington. He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine in Houston and completed his surgical residency at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.

He has published the results of his work on surgical site infection prevention and has given a number of lectures and technical presentations. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

His wife Adrianne is a certified orthopedic registered nurse and is part of the ICU nursing staff at Hunt Regional Medical Center. During his leisure time he enjoys playing golf, watching team sports, mountain biking, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

Dr. Trussell had planned to be a dentist, having been inspired by a dentist who was a neighbor when he was growing up. However, during pre-med school he volunteered in the ER at Parkland Hospital. He found it very fulfilling and decided to train as a doctor instead.

"It's my goal to advance surgical services in the Greenville area to new developments in complex laparoscopic surgery and surgical oncology. I look forward to being part of the local medical community."
