Erik Tijerina, FNP

PCA-Gun Barrel City

Erik Tijerina joined Primary Care Associates of Gun Barrel in October 2006 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Erik came to PCA upon completion of his Masters Degree in Nursing from Texas Tech University. He completed his undergraduate studies at University of Texas at Tyler in 2002.

Erik worked at East Texas Medical Center Tyler’s Level I Trauma Center - in the emergency room as a charge nurse (RN), and as leader of a Trauma Team. He was a paramedic in the East Texas area prior to becoming an RN.

Erik and his wife Courtney, an R.N. who works for United Healthcare, have two boys, Hagen and Cooper, who keep them very busy. Erik and his family live in Mabank, Texas, where they are active in their church. He also enjoys golf and hunting when time permits.
