James Nicholson, M.D.
PCA-Greenville, PCA-Quinlan
A Family Practice physician, Dr. Nicholson has been with PCA since 1960.
Although a native of Dallas, he moved to the Greenville because he wanted
a good place to raise his 4 daughters. He attended North Texas University,
Southwestern Medical School, and Baylor Medical Center.
He has been a staff member of Hunt Regional Medical Center at Greenville since
1960, serving as Chief of Staff for 3 terms. He was named Physician of
the Year in 1992 by the Hunt-Rains-Rockwall County Medical Association.
Dr. Nicholson has served as YMCA Director, is a Lifetime Member of the
Greenville ISD PTA, served on the GISD Board of Trustees for 12 years
and has served on the Boards of Directors of two local banks.
He went into medicine because his childhood hero was a doctor who had
shown faith in him as a boy. After living through his experiences with
the Marines in Korea, he decided “it’s really important to
do the one thing you want to do.” He enjoys hunting, fishing, and
gardening during his leisure time.
